Here at Abundant Church we gather to worship God, grow together, and make a difference. It's always amazing to see how God brings people from all walks of life and binds them together as family through our shared faith in Jesus. Whether we are worshipping, learning, serving, giving, or going, we are doing it together!
How we got started
Abundant Church was founded in 1913 when Sally Walker & Lula Slaten began hosting prayer meetings in their homes following Sally’s miraculous healing of tuberculosis at the first Pentecostal revival in the Alton area. In 1915, the congregation became affiliated with the Assemblies of God (AG) and land was first purchased on Edwards St. for $600.

What's the bottom line? More than ever, Abundant Church wants to see people grow closer to God, get to know others, and make a difference in the Riverbend.
